This tune from The Fairy Queen Suite (No. 2) represents the finest of Henry Purcell’s work and is delightful with its emphasis on a light marcato stroke that flows easily and naturally at an allegretto tempo. The key of G major in both the 6/8 and 2/4 sections fits naturally under the fingers for young string students.
