Greg Yasinitsky |
Born: October 3, 1953
Coordinator of Jazz Studies and Professor of Music at Washington State University, he has written music for Clark Terry, David Liebman, the USAF Airmen of Note, and more. A recipient of grants and awards from ASCAP, the National Endowment for the Arts, Meet The Composer West, and the Washington Artist Trust.
As a saxophonist, Greg has appeared with Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Lionel Hampton, Louis Bellson, Stan Getz, Mel Torme, Manhattan Transfer, and many others. His compositions and saxophone playing can be heard on recordings released by Soul Note, Palo Alto Records, the Musical Heritage Society, Vienna Modern Masters, Arizona University Recordings, Open Loop Recordings, and his own label, Yazz Recordings.
