Bob Mintzer

Born: January 27, 1953

New York City saxophonist and composer, he has written for and/or recorded with Deodato, Buddy Rich, Tito Puente, Hubert Laws, Art Blakey, Teruo Nockamura, Thad Jones-Mel Lewis, and many more.

As a leader of his own band, Bob's recordings on the prestigious DMP label have earned the praise of jazz experts and critics the world over. Some of these recordings include "Art Of The Big Band," "Big Band Trane," "Departure," "The First Decade," "Incredible Journey," "Latin From Manhattan," "Only In New York," "Spectrum," "Urban Contours," and his newest, "Homage To Count Basie."

In addition to all this, Bob is also a member of the fabulous Yellowjackets.
