Richard Coolidge

Born: November 1, 1929

With degrees from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music (BM, MM Piano) and Florida State University (DM Composition), he also attended the Peabody Conservatory of Music, Johns Hopkins University, and Indiana University. He studied piano with Mieczyslaw Munz, Robert Goldsand, Karen Dayas and Sidney Foster, and composition with Berhard Heiden and John Boda.

Dr. Coolidge has received numerous composition awards including the Delius Composition Award in 1976 and 1978 for piano works "Etude Tableau" and "Spindrifts." His music has been performed worldwide. From Argentina to Russa, Belgium to Brazil, Israel to Chile, and just about every place in between. Much of it has been published.

As a teacher of piano, composition and theory, he has held positions at East Tennessee State University, Pensacola Junior College, and Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas.
