Magic Hour
by Greg Yasinitsky

Casting tenor sax in the solo spotlight, this slow funk tribute to the late, great Grover Washington features a catchy, 16th-note groove, hip changes, and solid ensemble writing. Driven by a heavy backbeat supplied by bass and drums, figures appear harder than they are. The chart ends dramatically with an optional solo cadenza and fill. Written solo lines and a guitar chord chart are included, and it's playable by 9-17 pieces.
